When I posted two days ago, the print just would NOT line up--so, I didn't hone my thoughts or do much editing! Sorry about that!
Today is a new day! I will be seeing some of my lovelies while out on my trip, my five days away. My car is all packed: dehydrator and tools, big yellow carry bag and tools, backpack and tools and a swimsuit. I have added cinnamon buns to use as thank you notes!
So, where will those travels take me?
I will see a lovely well-practiced mama that I have had the joy of watching develop into a wonderful wife, super mama and fantastic cook! From young girl, not so sure of herself, to the confident woman with a woman child of her own that she is preparing well, I have been blessed to watch her develop her family that she is adding to once again!
Tonight, I will have a sleepover with my favourite six year old. My daughter has blown me away, raising this man child to be clever and sweet, thoughtful and creative, giving him room to be just who he is. And he is funny! So much fun! We will go swimming tomorrow on his non-instructional day, taking his buddy with us and enjoying the odd nan surprise through the day!
Over this weekend, I will again enjoy helping families prepare for birth. Helping them explore their questions, fears and priorities for birth and their new family remains one of my favourite investments! I look forward to watching them blossom!
At the end of the weekend, I will join my love while he has meetings and appointments. We will have a couple of nights to ourselves in the 'big city'- enjoying some time where there are no school demands, no distractions or calls, no interruptions in the evenings. A recharge, even though he has work to do in the daytime. What is it about being in a hotel room that helps a person truly disconnect? While he is busy, I will enjoy some time with friends, likely encapsulating a placenta and sharing the practise. And then a massage for me! As I age, I have hip trouble that seems to slow me much more than I care to share! A massage could give me a window of pain-free...and I am very open to that possibility!
So, a few days away, busy but fulfilling! So much of this time away is sharing my calling, my love of people, my love of all things birth. In my next post, I will spend time discussing the Herbal Medicine for Women course and how it will impact me and the women around me. I am excited to see how it will add to what I am already doing--and how the knowledge has the possibility to impact my own health! In the meantime, a few busy days, studded with downtime and full of joy!
What more could I wish for?
