Clear and Crisp and Delighted

It has, once again, been some time since I collected my thoughts and placed them here. But today, I had a sweet note from a one time doula trainee--and she gave me permission to share her thoughts here!

Hi Judi, I wanted to thank you so much for your influence on my little one's birth. Attending your training gave me a new perspective on

childbirth and totally changed my choices by educating me about my options. Largely through your influence I had a midwife &

doula as my support, gave birth in a birth centre without medication and most importantly I believed absolutely that I could and

would birth my son without anxiety. You turned me on to a whole new world of information about delayed clamping, immediate

skin to skin and breastfeeding, water birth (yes he was born in the water) and trusting my body. I was able to have all of these

because I knew to ask for them. Thank you Judi!

I have begun a course called Herbal Medicine for Women. It has provided me with much food for

thought and an opportunity to re-examine why I do what I do. This note made me think once again

about the women I meet and how we have an opportunity to change the face of birth, of how women

think about their bodies and their abilities. It is a chance to change our own beliefs about flaws and

instead to find out about our power and strength when we trust our design!

With my HMW course, I am learning from a gifted author, herbalist, midwife and physician named

Aviva Jill Romm. She looks thouroughly at the whole person, an approach I find so refreshing. I

realize it is also how I see people--not jsut as, for example, a birthing mama, but wife, mother,

daughter, sister, friend, aunt etc--and all of this influences her, along with how she was raised,

information she has, her own belief system and so much more!

I hope to pick up my blogging once again. This year started out with many challenges--and I am

finally in a place where I feel free again to address the things in my heart! If you have questions or

an interest you would like me to find out more on, feel free to let me know! I always appreciate

feedback! Stay tuned
